But a spokesman for the drug manufacturer Pfizer, Pfizer's biggest maker, said the study was the first in a series of trials in which men were asked to answer two questions: 'How much does Viagra Connect cost in London?' and 'How much does Viagra Connect cost in Manchester City?' The drug, known as Proscar, was initially tested on 22,000 men aged 18 to 41. However, it was the only drug to be prescribed to all men in the United Kingdom who needed to have erections.
Dr Laura Squire, chairman of the sexual medicine and health practice at the University of Manchester Sexual Health Care Research Institute, said: "The results from this study should prompt others to consider the safety of using Viagra Connect in men with erectile dysfunction, and to consider alternative treatments for erectile dysfunction."
